Vincent Bryant is a photographer based in New Jersey, USA. On the New Years of 1978, Vincent and his friend Charles Johnson were chosen by club owner Miles Berger to be the House Photographers of what would become the foundational Jersey Night Club: Zanzibar. As Jersey was still recovering from the riots of the late 1960's, Zanzibar was a beacon for the city's underground music and arts scene, often regarded with the same reverence as New York's Paradise Garage and Chicago's Warehouse.

The early days of 'The Zanz' were not just a home to the party-people of Jersey, but also a hub for musicians and artists alike: from Grace Jones to Chaka Khan, Loleatta Hollaway to Sylvester. It's been argued time and time again as one of the birthplaces of  House Music with Boyd Jarvis, DJ Merlin Bobb, Kerri Chandler and Tony Humphries all cementing a place of their own in dance music history by breaking the inimitable 'Jersey Sound'.

In his self-published book, Vincent has carefully curated a collection of his most prized polaroids, capturing the moments in time linking the club, the party-people and the musicians. You can read more about Vincent's story in our interview here.
